If the available time slots don’t work for you:
No worries! The calendar shows the times we normally reserve for coaching, but we have some flexibility. Send us an email and we’ll see what we can work out.
What to expect at the onboarding:
- It can last up to 90 minutes
- Your dog does not need to be present
- Probably not much teaching just yet
This session is all about getting to know you and your dog, so that we can put together a solid plan. We’ll take a behavioral history and discuss your goals and concerns. Depending on the specifics of your situation, we might give you your first set of homework. But in most cases, the onboarding is just the first step in the plan-creation process. The practical work begins in the following days.
We recommend bringing a pen/paper or other note-taking device.
What we typically ask about:
- Your dog’s training and veterinary history
- Their routine and diet
- Your general routine and how much time/energy you can devote to dog activities
- The layout of your home, so we can plan management setups if applicable
- Details on your dog’s unwanted behavior, if applicable
- Dates (or at least a general timeline) of relevant events (ex: “When did Sparky last get into a fight with your other dog?” “When did you first notice this behavior change?” “How long has Sparky been on his medication?”)
