Virtual Coaching Agreement and Details

Hi there, future coaching client! Here’s what you need to know before we begin. Some of this is legalese and some of it is the details on how it all works.

To get in touch with us, email contact@3lostdogs.com.

The Virtual Coaching Agreement

By enrolling in the 3 Lost Dogs Academy private coaching program, you (”Client”) are entering an agreement with Daybreak Dogs LLC (”Company”) to receive services from Jacob Buvala and/or Erin Lawson (”Trainers”), subject to the following terms:

Services:

Our virtual coaching program consists of video chats via Zoom, plus texting and video messaging via Whatsapp and/or email. We (Trainers) will give you instructions, either written or in video form, and ask you to film your training sessions and send us the clips.

So you’ll need to make sure you have a reliable internet connection and the ability to record basic footage. Doesn’t have to be fancy; your camera phone will do just fine. Your clips can be submitted via email, but we recommend Whatsapp for ease of use. If you need, we can walk you through the setup of Whatsapp at our initial consultation.

We’ll work with you to teach you how to train your dog(s) and modify the dog’s behavior to better fit into your life. For behavior modification to work effectively, you will probably need to make adjustments to your home and lifestyle, such as providing more activity and enrichment to the dog, changing your daily routine, and enacting management techniques like baby gates and visual barriers.

Successful pet training plans depend on a combination of learned skills on the part of pet and owner, and may be affected by the pet’s genetics, physical abilities, and previous life experiences.

Behavior is not static; an animal will not continue to perform trained behaviors without ongoing practice. Especially in cases of aggression, although behavior may be modified, the dog is never considered “cured.”

We will make every reasonable effort to help you meet your training and behavior modification goals, but we make no guarantees of your dog’s performance or behavior as a result of providing professional animal behavior consultation.

Sharing footage/photos:

We may ask you for permission to use clips from your Zoom sessions and any videos or photos you send us for our educational content on social media and our website (we love to brag about our students!). We will not share anything you send us without asking you first.

Number of sessions and length of services:

With the base coaching package you’re signing up for, you get one initial consultation that may last up to 90 minutes, and three follow-up sessions that may last up to one hour. The three follow-up sessions must be used within six weeks of the date of the initial consultation, or they will expire.

You’ll have access to the Text a Trainer service via Whatsapp starting immediately after your initial consultation, and until completion of your third follow-up session.

For Whatsapp messages you send us on weekdays, we’ll respond within 24 hours, during business hours Mountain Time. It may take longer for us to respond on weekends.

Your purchase also includes a one-year-long All-Access Pass membership to the 3 Lost Dogs Academy. This membership does not automatically renew.

Cancellation/No Show policy:

If you have to cancel or reschedule a coaching session, we ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice. But we understand that life happens sometimes, so we have “No Show Forgiveness” for your first missed session or short-notice cancellation. We’ll reschedule that session with no penalty.

Any additional sessions you miss or cancel with less than 24 hours notice will be treated as completed.

Refund policy:

We will provide a full refund if you request it in writing via email to contact@3lostdogs.com before your first video/Zoom coaching session starts. And if, after your initial consultation, we determine we’re the wrong fit for your situation, we will offer a full refund.

After that, we may offer full or partial refunds on a case-by-case basis, but we reserve the right not to refund private coaching purchases after coaching sessions have begun.

Liability:

By entering this agreement, you, the Client, acknowledge that dog training/behavior modification may be an activity in which injury to dog(s) and/or persons may occur, and we the Trainers make no guarantee that your dog(s) will never bite or be injured in the future.

Client will assume full financial/moral responsibility for the actions of their dog(s).

You the Client agree that you, your heirs, and legal representatives will not make claim against or sue the Company, Trainers, their family, or any other person acting on their behalf (herein referred to as “Their Agents”), for injury or damage done by or to dog(s).

Client forever releases Trainers and/or Their Agents from any and all liability and demands Client and/or your heirs or legal representatives may have or may hereafter have for injury or damage to or by dog(s), and assumes all risk thereof.
